Treaty of Orebro

The building in Örebro where the treaties were signed in 1812
Memorial plate from 2012 over the Treaty of Orebro 1812

The Treaties of Örebro[1] were both signed on the same day, 18 July 1812, and they formally end the Anglo-Russian War (1807–1812) and the Anglo-Swedish War (1810–1812).

  1. ^ The treaties were drawn up in French, the lingua franca of diplomacy at that time. The official English translation drops the diacritics from Örebro and use the name Treaty of Orebro. See British and Foreign State Papers, Volume 1 Part 1 (1812-1814), published by the Great Britain Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 1841. p. 15; and also Hansard, Thomas Curson.
