Islamic Association of Women

The Islamic Association of Women (Jam’iat-e Zanan-e Jomhouri-e Islami in Persian) is an Iranian political party. It is the first officially registered party of the Islamic Republic of Iran.[1]

History and profile

The party was established 1987.[1] The secretary-general of the party has been Zahra Mostafavi, the daughter of Ayatollah Khomeini.[1] Fatemeh Karroubi, wife of Mehdi Karroubi, is among its notable members.[1]
